My friend Kristi reached out to me recently to tell me about Concert for the Cure, hosted by D.R.E.A.M. (Diabetes Research & Education Advocates of Michigan). Kristi is an intelligent and hardworking team member for D.R.E.A.M., whom was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes as a child. Since then she has dedicated her time and energy to finding a cure, and providing support and education to people with diabetes. D.R.E.A.M. is an organization that has partnered with the University of Michigan C.S.Mott Children’s Hospital to fund research to help us find a cure.
Join D.R.E.A.M. at Concert for the Cure and enjoy great food, music, and fun as they listen to the rhythm of local bands and continue their efforts to “beat” diabetes! The event is Saturday, May 7th 2011, at the Edgewood Country Club (8399 Commerce Rd, Commerce MI) and goes from 7:00 to 11:00pm. There will be a silent auction who’s proceeds go directly toward Type 1 research, including my Jefferson edition of the Detroit Diamonds Tube Pendant.
